Hello World
PUBG Mobile is where font generators quietly fall apart. You type a name, pick a style, copy it, and the rename box either strips half the characters or refuses the whole thing. The generator did nothing wrong. The game is filtering what it accepts, and on some phones your keyboard is working against you as well.
PUBG will not accept a name longer than 14.

That changes what a useful page about PUBG fonts looks like. Styled alphabets are the headline everywhere else on this site, and here they are the least reliable part of the job. The characters that do survive are the bracket wraps and CJK marks you see in every lobby, and those work almost without exception. So this page puts them first.
Below you will find which styles pasted and which vanished, the most likely reason for the split, the symbol sets you can copy straight into the field, and why a fourteen character limit pushes decorated names down to four or five letters. There is a way to test a name for free before you spend a Rename Card, and a fix for the phones where pasting does not work at all. If you only came to build a name, the box above is enough.
Put the name you want into the field at the top of this page. The output updates as you type, so you can watch a five letter tag turn over character by character. Nothing you type leaves your browser.
Scroll the styles and tap the one you want. If the name matters more to you than the lettering, skip the alphabets and jump to the symbol section further down, because those characters are the ones PUBG is most likely to keep. Plenty of the best known lobby names use no styled letters at all, only plain text inside a decorated wrap. Most of the stylish name ideas that circulate as ready made lists are built exactly that way.
The character counter matters more here than on any other page. PUBG allows fourteen characters, and every wrap symbol spends one of them. Copy your name, open the game, and paste it into the rename field. If characters go missing on the way in, the next section explains what happened.
Someone ran this test on a live account and published the results. Ten style types went into the rename field one at a time, and the outcome split three ways. Some pasted intact, some lost characters with no warning at all, and some produced nothing.
A bracket wrap went in. This is the option the article recommends.
| Style type | Sample | Result |
|---|---|---|
| Corner brackets | 『 』 | Pasted correctly |
| Glitch and strikethrough | g̴l̴i̴t̴c̴h̴ | Pasted correctly |
| Small caps | ꜱᴍᴀʟʟ ᴄᴀᴘꜱ | Partial, some characters lost |
| Mixed script | Ⲅнσѕт | Partial, one character dropped |
| Bold | 𝗛𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗼 | Did not paste |
| Script | 𝓗𝓮𝓵𝓵𝓸 | Did not paste |
| Gothic | 𝔊𝔬𝔱𝔥𝔦𝔠 | Did not paste |
| Superscript | ᵐⁱⁿⁱᵐᵃˡ | Did not paste |
| Ornamental marks | ⚜ ❧ | Did not paste |
| Emoji | 🔥 | Did not paste |
Those results come from one device using ordinary copy and paste. Nobody has isolated whether the failures belong to PUBG itself or to that particular phone’s keyboard and clipboard, and no reliable source settles it either way. We have not reproduced the test on our own handset yet. Treat the table as a strong signal rather than a rule, and check your own name before you spend a card on it.
The two partial rows are the interesting ones. Small caps lost only some of its characters, which matches what we already know about that alphabet from the small text generator page, where the same gaps turn up. The mixed script sample dropped a single character silently, so the name still looked plausible while being wrong.
A second failure catches people out and looks nothing like the first. On some versions and some phones the paste never lands, and the field stays exactly as it was. Players reported this after one of the season updates, and iPhone users run into it regularly. Your name is fine in that case, because the clipboard never reached the game.
Small caps went in and stayed small.
There is a way around it. Save your finished name as a text shortcut in your keyboard settings, using something short like gg as the trigger. Open the rename field, type the shortcut, and the keyboard writes the full name out for you. The clipboard is never involved, so nothing can strip the name on the way in.
Fullwidth letters went in at full width.
Line those results up by where each character lives in Unicode and a pattern appears. Bold, script and gothic letters all come from a single block called Mathematical Alphanumeric Symbols, which sits outside the range most software treats as ordinary text. Emoji sit outside it too. Everything that pasted cleanly sits inside that ordinary range.
The mechanism behind it also explains the character count. Characters in that block need two units of storage rather than one, a pair of values instead of a single value. In the programming languages most games are built with, each of those letters reports a length of two. A styled name that looks fourteen characters long can measure twenty eight to the code checking it.
Short version: the styled letters people most want are built in exactly the way name fields are most likely to reject. The plain characters that look least impressive in a generator are the ones that arrive intact. That trade sits underneath every recommendation on this page.
This is the most likely explanation rather than a confirmed one, and the difference matters. Krafton has never published what its name field accepts, so nobody outside the studio can state the rule. Developers do deliberately reject that same Unicode range in form validation, common enough that programming forums carry questions about how to do it. The pattern fits and the mechanism is real, and that is as far as the evidence goes.
If script lettering was what you actually wanted, it has a proper home elsewhere. The same alphabet works without trouble in an Instagram bio or a Discord about section, which is where the cursive font generator earns its keep. Blackletter behaves the same way, so the gothic font generator is worth using on platforms that keep it. PUBG is one of the strictest fields you will ever paste into, and it is not a fair test of a style.
Some lobby names cannot be rebuilt no matter what you paste. Long runs of ornaments wrapped around a full length name show up in matches, and copying those same characters into your own rename box gets you nowhere. The usual explanation is that the names were set years ago, when the field accepted more than it does now. Old names keep displaying the way they were saved, so the game shows you something it will no longer let you create.
A second reason is less interesting. Some of the names circulating in screenshots were never in the game at all, and were built in an image editor for a thumbnail. Chasing either kind costs you a Rename Card and gets you nothing.
These are the characters that actually survive, and they are the reason PUBG names look the way they do. None of them are letters. They sit around your name instead of replacing it, which is exactly why the field accepts them while it drops styled alphabets. These are copy and paste characters, so take them straight from the table below.
| Symbol | What it is | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| ꧁ ꧂ | Javanese rerenggan | The most recognised PUBG wrap of all |
| 『 』 | White corner brackets | A lighter frame that costs the same |
| ⼺ | CJK ideograph | Trailing or leading accent, common in clans |
| 乂 | CJK ideograph | Works as a wrap or as a separator |
| ツ | Katakana tu | Reads as a smiling face, very common prefix |
| 々 | Iteration mark | Tail accent before initials |
The wider sets are worth browsing before you settle, because most players reach for the same two and stop. Every group below behaves the same way in the name field, so the choice comes down to how heavy you want the name to look. Each character costs one of your fourteen whichever group it came from.

Format templates get you further than a list of ready made names. Drop your own tag into one of these shapes and the result belongs to you: ꧁Name꧂, ⼺Name⼺, 乂 Name乂, 『Name』. Pairing a wrap with a styled alphabet works wherever the alphabet survives, and the freaky font generator covers the script style players most often try to combine.
Fourteen characters is a tighter budget than it sounds once symbols get involved. Every wrap character costs the same as a letter, and wraps arrive in pairs. A five letter tag inside one pair of brackets has already spent seven of your fourteen. This is the entire reason decorated PUBG names are short.
| Name | Characters used | Left over |

| ꧁Ghost꧂ | 7 | 7 |

| ⼺Ghost⼺ | 7 | 7 |

| ツGhost | 6 | 8 |

Careful here, because the game may not count the way you do. If any styled letters are in the name, the field can read each one as two characters, and a name that looks legal comes back rejected. Players have posted about seeing name cannot exceed 14 characters while sitting at exactly fourteen, and assumed they had found a bug. Plain letters inside a symbol wrap sidestep the problem completely.
That budget is the real designer of these names. Four and five letter tags dominate PUBG not because short names look better, but because there is room for nothing else. Picking a shorter tag buys you a heavier frame, and picking a longer one means going plain.
You do not have to gamble a Rename Card to find out whether a name survives. Type or paste the finished name into team chat, or send it to yourself in a private message, and look closely at what comes back. The chat field and the name field are not identical, so this proves nothing on its own, but anything that breaks in chat will almost certainly break in your profile. This trick is not ours, and it is useful enough that pretending otherwise would be dishonest.
Look for two different things in the result. Missing characters mean the game or your keyboard stripped them out, and empty boxes mean the character arrived but the font on your screen has no shape for it. A box on your phone may render properly on someone else’s, which is worth remembering before you throw a symbol away.
Changing a PUBG Mobile name needs a Rename Card, and there is no route around that. Before you spend anything, open your inventory and look, because the card you are about to buy may already be sitting there. The steps themselves take under a minute once you have one in hand.
Open your inventory from the main lobby.
Find the Rename Card and tap Use.
Type or paste your new name into the box that appears.
Confirm, and the name updates straight away.
A card costs 180 UC in the shop. UC does not sell in a 180 unit block, so reaching it means buying the package above, which is 325 UC and leaves you holding change you did not ask for. New accounts already carry a free card in inventory, which catches out players who buy one without checking first. Some players also report a free card turning up after a stretch of days away from the game, though that comes from a single account and we cannot confirm it.
Your own name and your clan’s name run on separate rule sets, and most players assume they are the same. Only the clan master can change a clan name or a clan tag, so members and administrators cannot touch either one. Once a name has been changed it locks for a period before it can change again, and the old name is held in reserve for seven days so no rival clan can take it. The published figure for that lock is thirty days, though it comes from the rules for the PC and console versions rather than Mobile.
No way around this next one, and it saves a lot of wasted effort. A clan tag cannot hold symbols at all. The rules allow two to four characters, drawn only from English letters, numbers, hyphen and underscore, with no spaces and a letter or number in first position. Every ꧁ and ⼺ you see beside a clan name is sitting inside the clan name itself, never in the tag.
Changing a clan name costs money in every version of the game. On PC the item is bought from the store with the game’s own currency, and on Mobile it comes out of the clan shop as a rename card. Figures for the Mobile price circulate widely, and none of them survives checking against a second source, so this page is not going to print one.
A blank name is not a style, it is a character with no shape. Two are normally used, a braille pattern with none of its dots raised and a Korean filler character, both of which take up space without drawing anything. Pasted into the rename field they can leave your name reading as empty in the lobby and the kill feed.
Worth knowing before you try it: this is the least reliable thing on the page. Whether it works depends on your game version and on whether your keyboard keeps the character through a copy. Many builds also reject a name with no visible characters in it. Spend a Rename Card chasing this and you may end up with nothing to show for it.
Krafton publishes a naming policy, and it is worth reading once because almost nobody links to it. Nicknames that are offensive, impersonate staff, infringe a trademark or read as sexually explicit are all covered by it. A name found in breach can be changed without your consent, and penalties can follow on top of that.
One clause goes further than most players expect, and it is the reason this section is here at all. It deals with players who try to work around the filter rather than break it outright. The wording is worth reading exactly as it was published.
If you change a few letters of an inappropriate nickname, or try to construct nicknames that are cleverly inappropriate by mixing other characters before and after the letters, your nickname will be immediately changed without your consent and/or penalty measures will be taken.
Read closely, that clause is not about symbols. Symbols are allowed, and the game displays thousands of decorated names in every session. What it forbids is using symbols to smuggle a banned word past a filter, by breaking the word up or padding it out. Decorating a clean name is fine, and disguising a dirty one is the behaviour being described.
Searches for a PUBG font download are looking for a file, and no file is going to help. What a PUBG name generator hands you is not a font, it is a set of characters that already exist in Unicode and happen to look styled. A font file changes how text is drawn on one device, and it cannot travel inside a username.
That distinction is also why any of this works. Your styled name is stored as characters, so it survives the trip into a game that has never heard of your font choices. It sets the ceiling as well, because you only get the styles somebody has already encoded and nothing beyond them.
Digits show the limits better than letters do. Several styled alphabets have no matching numbers, so a name mixing letters with figures comes out uneven, and the number font generator sets out which sets carry a full run of ten. That matters more here than elsewhere, because a squad number or a year is a common part of a tag.
A different search lands on this page, from people asking what font PUBG uses. That question is about the logo and the interface, which are drawn with real typefaces licensed by the studio, and neither is available to players. Whatever you paste into the rename field gets drawn in the game’s own interface font, so a logo cannot be reproduced there at any size. If you want the logo look for a thumbnail or a banner, that is a job for an image editor rather than a text tool.
A name that looks good on the profile screen does not always survive the places it actually appears. The lobby shows it at full size with room to spare, which is where a heavy frame reads well. The kill feed is the smallest text the game renders, and ornaments collapse into noise at that size. Team lists, the leaderboard and clan pages all sit somewhere between the two.
Pick according to where you want to be noticed. A player who cares about the kill feed does better with a short plain tag and one accent character, and a player who cares about their profile can afford the full wrap. Working this out is cheap, because one match tells you everything.
Symbol names are hostile to screen readers, and gaming gets no exemption from that. A wrap character carries a Unicode description rather than a sound, so reading software may announce the description, skip the character, or produce nothing at all depending on which program is running. A name like ꧁Ghost꧂ can arrive as the word Ghost buried between two long announcements.
This comes up less often in a game than in a bio, and it lands harder when it does. Players who use assistive software read team lists, clan rosters and chat like everybody else. It is one more argument for plain letters with light decoration, which is what the character limit was pushing you towards anyway.
The styles that fail here are not broken, they are in the wrong room. Bold and script paste without complaint into an Instagram bio, caption or comment, and the instagram fonts page covers those along with the character limits attached to each field. Discord accepts them in a display name and an about section, and the discord fonts page explains where its username rules stop you. TikTok keeps them in a nickname and a bio, and the tiktok fonts page counts every style twice over to show which ones cost double. A failure in PUBG tells you nothing about any of them.
It runs the other way as well. The bracket wraps that make a PUBG name recognisable will paste into almost anything, because they are ordinary characters that have been in Unicode for decades. A frame built for a game tag works just as well on a profile, a channel title or a heading.
BGMI is the same game under India’s own publisher, and none of the naming rules change. The limit is fourteen characters, the rename card works the same way, and the symbols that survive in one survive in the other. Guides that treat the two as separate problems are padding a page.
Two differences are worth a mention. Prices appear in local currency and the packages are sized differently, so the amount you pay to reach a rename card varies. Clan features and events sometimes arrive at different times in the two versions.
The counter is set to fourteen, so you find out about the limit here rather than in the game
Symbols sit on the page as copy blocks, instead of being buried in a tool that cannot produce them
The compatibility table says what failed and admits what we were not able to test ourselves
No lists of two hundred ready made names you were never going to use
Nothing you type is sent anywhere or stored
Every other tool on the site is one tap away on the font generator homepage
Fourteen characters. Go over it and the game answers with the message name cannot exceed 14 characters, which is where most players first meet the limit. Wrap symbols count towards it exactly like letters do, so a pair of brackets costs you two.
Styled letters are stored using two units each rather than one, so the field can be counting twice what you see. Swapping the styled letters for plain ones inside a symbol wrap normally clears it.
On some versions and some phones the paste never reaches the field, which has been reported on iPhone in particular. Save the name as a keyboard text shortcut and type the shortcut instead, and the clipboard is taken out of the process.
Testing suggests they do not, and that they fail silently rather than showing an error. Bracket wraps and CJK marks are the reliable option, and both are on this page.
A Rename Card is 180 UC in the shop, and because UC is not sold in that amount you end up buying a 325 UC package. Check your inventory first, because new accounts start with a card already in there.
Symbols on their own are fine and millions of names use them. The rules target names that use characters to disguise a word that would otherwise be blocked.
There is no file to download, and one would not help. Styled names are Unicode characters rather than a font, which is why they travel into the game at all.
Most were set years ago when the field accepted more than it does now, and old names keep displaying as they were saved. Some of the rest were never in the game and were made in an image editor.
Yes. Same limit, same rename card, same symbols, with only prices and event timing differing between the two.
